Flyying Colours

Having released their debut self-titled EP (through Universal) in 2013, Melbourne quartet Flyying Colours have quickly made a name for themselves as rising band to watch. The EP saw the band in the top 5 Airit charts for a month of widespread community radio play on FBi, 4ZZZ and RTR Fm as well as triple J. The EP has also been released in the UK, Europe and USA where it scored regular play on BBC, Amazing radio and XFM. Apart from collecting an impressive number of radio spins the EP has garnered praise from both street press and online tastemakers:

‘An impressive slab of psych-rock that implements the right amount of fuzz without becoming overzealous’ – Tonedeaf 8/10

The swirling guitars, juxtaposed male and female vocals and unrelenting pulse of recent single ‘Not Today’ burrows its way into your skull and wraps around your brain for a captivating piece of psychedelic nirvana. Subsequent single ‘Like You Said’ premiered on ToneDeaf, was on Rage and was featured on a heap of both Australian and international blogs including NME, The AU Review and Mess+Noise. Live and onstage the high-praise for Flyying Colours has been just as impressive:

‘A pitch-perfect rendition of all of the songs from their newest EP with a couple of extras, displaying a passion and energy even more intense than their recorded tracks provide. Far from being a static, shoegazing performance, the lead singer’s onstage antics and the band’s obvious affection for one another made them a joy to watch on stage.’ – 4ZZZ
