With a touring schedule so busy making hometown shows a rarity , My Disco sets have become highly sought after for their singular, blackening energy.
The last few months have been good to My Disco fans like that – their latest album, Severe, has seen them tour the country before spinning out to New Zealand, Japan, and Taiwan. In the midst of all this, Severe was shortlisted for the 11th Australian Music Prize. Out via Temporary Residence and produced by acclaimed composer Cornel Wilczek, Severe is the three-piece’s ultimate achievement.
The Quietus said “I doubt there will be a more effective, more moving, more genuinely, chillingly psychedelic record released this year.”
TheMusic called it a “nothing short of spectacular.”
Rolling Stone called it “terrifyingly bleak,” but in a good way.
MY DISCO returned to their hometown for a victory lap of the Curtin band room before they rounded off 2016 with shows in Europe.
