Singer/songwriter Taylor Sheridan, started his career as a young teenager in Rural Victoria and describes his music as ‘soulfully acoustic’ with influences varying from Stevie Wonder all the way to James Taylor.
Taylor always combine elements of these different styles to make something fresh.
“Singing soulfully is something that feels incredibly natural to me and I love the storytelling of the acoustic folk and singer/songwriters.
Lyrics and melody are where my heart lies but if you find the right chords that genuinely excite you, that’s the real pay-off.”
Sheridan says he feels most comfortable when he is on stage with just a guitar and his voice.
“I don’t really know any different to be honest; I know how I want my music to come across so I think playing solo allows me to achieve a more genuine show.”
Having released two independent EP’s and a string of singles, Taylor has toured with some of Australia’s finest acts – just him and his guitar – including Pete Murray, Thirsty Merc, Daryl Braithwaite and John Farnham.
2019 was a milestone year for Taylor. Off the back of opening Regional Touring’s Red Hot Summer shows, Taylor released the single ‘Nothing Wrong’ debuting on the AIR charts at #8 (Ind Labels) and #2 (100% Singles). Following this Taylor went on to tour nationally with Vanessa Amorosi and then Jon Stevens. Following stand out reviews from his peers, Taylor was called up to open the sold out One Electric Day shows.
Culminating his successes of 2019, Taylor played his debut headline show to a SOLD OUT audience at Birds Basement in Melbourne.
With a distinguishable talent for lyrics and an engaging stage presence, new music planned and a tour, 2020 is sure to be another standout year for Taylor Sheridan.
