The Getaway Plan are in the throes of a seriously exciting time. After recently reaching their crowd-funding target via Pledge Music, Melbourne’s notoriously hardworking alt-rock quartet are in the studio laying down their new LP and have just announced a stack of tour dates for 2015.
Having negotiated every cog in the music industry machine throughout their immensely successful career, the The Getaway Plan are proud to eschew traditional label ties to release their forthcoming LP. Dark Horses will be just as powerful and mysterious as the name suggests, and will be recorded, released and toured completely independently. It was a bold decision by the band, but only further strengthened by the immense support shown by their always encouraging and fiercely dedicated fanbase, who donated their hard-earned cash in order to see their vision for their third album realised. Music Victoria also proved instrumental in the album’s creation, granting the band the funds needed to record Dark Horses unapologetically and without compromise.
The recording of Dark Horses is underway in the well-equipped confines of Melbourne’s Sing Sing Studios, with local producer Samuel K at the helm. This will be the first Getaway Plan LP recorded in Australia, and the home town advantage has the band feeling relaxed and eager to experiment. Dark Horses is expected to be revealed to patient fans in mid-2015 with more details emerging with each approaching month.
In the meantime The Getaway Plan have booked an array of national tour dates, including regional centres like Bendigo, Torquay & Warrnambool to road-test the new material.
More than a decade into their career, The Getaway Plan are hitting their stride. Come along and witness the TGP’s trot break into canter. This is the horse to back for 2015.
